FirmTech MaxPR reviews

The FirmTech MaxPR is the tightest FirmTech ring, a $60 erection ring built for maximum firmness and a more intense finish. It is slimmer and snugger than the Performance Ring, which is why FirmTech limits wear to 90 minutes at a time.

Is the MaxPR tighter than the Performance Ring?

Yes. FirmTech rates the MaxPR 5 of 5 for tightness, versus 3 of 5 for the Performance Ring, because it uses the same doctor-designed shape made slimmer and snugger. The extra pressure is meant for fuller erections and a more intense orgasm, and the tradeoff is a shorter safe wear time of up to 90 minutes.

What do MaxPR buyers say?

“Tighter than the original in the best way. A real difference.”

MaxPR facts

What is the MaxPR?

The MaxPR is FirmTech’s tightest erection ring. It keeps the original peno-scrotal design, looping around the base of the penis and behind the testicles, but is slimmer and snugger for extra pressure. Firmer pressure at the base holds blood in place while you wear it.

Like every FirmTech ring, it uses an adjustable hook-and-latch strap and medical-grade, phthalate-free, latex-free elastomer. It has no sensors and nothing to charge. FirmTech rates it 5 of 5 for pleasure (Most intense).

MaxPR by the numbers

  • $60 on its own
  • $120 with RingMate, instead of $129
  • $295 with a TechRing, instead of $335
  • Up to 90 minutes safe wear time
  • 5 of 5 tightness on FirmTech’s scale
  • 3 months warranty

How to wear the MaxPR safely

  1. Open. Unhook the latch and open the loops.
  2. Place. Loop it around the base and behind the testicles.
  3. Adjust. Snug, never painful. Loosen if you feel numbness.
  4. Time it. Take it off within 90 minutes, and never sleep in it.

Who should choose a different ring?

Pick the Performance Ring if you want longer sessions or are new to rings: same price, gentler fit, up to 12 hours. Pick the TechRing if you want erection data or overnight tracking, since the MaxPR is not meant for sleep.

How we chose

This page was written by FirmTech, which publishes this site and makes every ring it ranks. We judge each ring on the same criteria: what it does (support only or support plus tracking), price, tightness, safe wear time, warranty and what verified buyers say on FirmTech’s reviews page. FirmTech’s own pick is listed first. Nothing here is an independent test or audit.

  • Which FirmTech ring is the tightest?

The MaxPR is the tightest, rated 5 of 5 for tightness by FirmTech. The Performance Ring is rated 3 of 5 (Comfort) and the TechRing 3 of 5 (Secure). Because it is snugger, the MaxPR has a shorter safe wear time of up to 90 minutes, versus up to 12 hours for the other two.

  • Is the Performance Ring or the MaxPR better?

Neither is better for everyone. The Performance Ring is rated 3 of 5 for tightness and can be worn up to 12 hours, so it suits comfort and longer sessions. The MaxPR is rated 5 of 5 for tightness and pleasure but is limited to 90 minutes, so it suits men who want maximum intensity.

  • What should I do if the ring feels too tight?

Loosen the hook-and-latch strap until the ring feels snug but not tight. If it still hurts, take it off. Pain, numbness or a cold feeling are signs to remove a ring. If you are using the MaxPR, which is FirmTech’s tightest ring, the Performance Ring offers a more comfortable fit.

  • How long can I safely wear an ED ring?

It depends on the ring. FirmTech rates the TechRing and Performance Ring for up to 12 hours and the MaxPR for up to 90 minutes. General guidance differs: Healthline advises not wearing a cock ring for more than 20 minutes at a time. Follow the limit for your specific ring and your doctor’s advice.

  • What are the side effects of erection rings?

Common erection ring side effects include discomfort, numbness, a cold feeling or bruising when a ring is too tight or worn too long. A painful erection lasting more than 4 hours is a medical emergency. Remove the ring if you feel pain, and ask a doctor first if you have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners.

  • Can couples use FirmTech rings together?

Yes. FirmTech rings work the same way solo or with a partner, and the TechRing tracks every session either way. For partner stimulation, RingMate is a three-speed vibrator for her that slides onto any FirmTech ring. It costs $69 alone or $120 bundled with a Performance Ring or MaxPR.
